Brief Description of Major Components
1. Grama Sabha
The Grama Sabha is the general assembly of the people of the Panchayat. It discusses development projects, public needs and welfare activities and makes recommendations on various matters.
2. Grama Panchayat Committee
The Grama Panchayat Committee is the governing body consisting of elected representatives. It manages the development and administrative affairs of the Panchayat.
3. President & Vice President
The President and Vice President are the principal administrative leaders of the Panchayat. They provide leadership for the administrative activities of the Panchayat.
4. Standing Committees
These are specialised committees functioning in areas such as development, finance, health and education, and welfare.
5. Panchayat Secretary
The Secretary is the chief administrative officer of the Panchayat. The Secretary coordinates office activities, file procedures and administrative functions.
